Raised Voices Project Officially Launches Three-Day Retreat in Lusaka

The Raised Voices Project has officially launched, marking the beginning of a three-day retreat at The Urban Hotel, Lusaka.

This retreat comes at a critical time, as cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) — particularly sextortion  continue to rise in higher learning institutions. The project aims to confront this growing concern through a dynamic and engaging approach that amplifies student voices and lived experiences.

Raised Voices will address this challenge by utilizing:

  • In-depth interviews
  • Personal storytelling
  • Video recordings and digital content creation

By leveraging podcasts and other digital platforms, the project seeks to expand its outreach and effectively engage the student population across five higher learning institutions:

  • DMI-St. Eugene University
  • Cavendish University Zambia
  • The University of Zambia
  • Lusaka University
  • National Institute of Public Administration

Through meaningful conversations and digital storytelling, Raised Voices is committed to increasing awareness, encouraging dialogue, and fostering safer campus environments where every student can learn free from fear and exploitation.
