Combating GBV & Violence against Women.

Preventing gender-based violence and violence against women is a mandate we actively pursue by promoting gender equality, challenging harmful norms, and strengthening protection systems. Through education, community engagement, and enforcement of laws, we are committed to creating safe and inclusive spaces for women and girls.

HIV Prevention & Awareness

HIV prevention and awareness is a mandate we actively pursue by promoting accurate information, encouraging testing, and supporting safe and responsible behaviors. Through education, community engagement, and access to prevention and treatment services, we aim to reduce new infections and promote healthy, informed communities.

Womens Rights & Equality

Women’s rights and equality are mandates we actively pursue by promoting equal opportunities, protecting fundamental rights, and challenging discrimination in all its forms. Through advocacy, education, and inclusive policies, we work to empower women and ensure their full participation in society

Our Team

Seasoned Governance and Development Expert

Chana Kaunda is a seasoned development and governance expert with over 15 years of experience in rural, local, and democratic governance. She has strong expertise in strategic development, research, financial management, program evaluation, and strategic communications and has held senior leadership roles, including serving as a board member of ZSIC Life. During nine years at UNDP, she coordinated multi-partner governance and electoral support programs, working closely with the Ministry of Local Government and the Electoral Commission of Zambia and contributing to initiatives funded by partners such as the EU, USAID, and GIZ. She later served as a program officer in UNDP’s Governance Unit, supporting a $40 million electoral cycle program, and has also worked in public health programming with CIDRZ. She is widely regarded as a leading expert committed to strengthening national governance systems.

Seasoned Governance and Development Expert

Ms. Marian Munyinda is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) (UK) and holds a Master of Business Administration degree. She has held various positions in the financial and management accounting field in a career spanning over 20 years. In addition, she has also served on various boards such as AON Zambia, the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA), the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and the NGO Coordinating Council (NGOCC). She is a gender activist with a passion for promoting men and women as equal development partners and a managing consultant of NEST ES Limited.
Ms. Kaunda holds a Master of Science in Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, USA, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Veteran Human Rights Lawyer and Social Justice Advocate

Dr. Adetoun Ilumoka was born and raised in Nigeria, mainly in the city of Lagos. A qualified solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, she has practiced and taught law in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.
For over 3 decades, Dr. Ilumoka has been an active campaigner for social justice, focusing on women’s health and reproductive rights, gender equality, and socio-economic development, and working through several local and international organizations and networks. An accomplished law and policy researcher, she has done extensive work on human rights, constitutional development, and land law, making vital linkages between academic research, policy, and programs that improve people’s lives. Her current interests are promoting women’s land rights and affordable housing, basic education, and basic income within the context of community development and empowerment. A committed feminist, she is passionate about mentoring young leaders and developing linkages between social justice and development organizations to promote positive social change around the world.

Distinguished Physicist and Academic Leader

Michael Steinitz is a professor of physics at St. Francis Xavier University, where he has taught and conducted research since 1973. His work focuses on solid-state physics, neutron scattering, magnetic structures, and high-precision dilatometry, including the co-development of a tilted-plate capacitance displacement sensor capable of angstrom-level resolution at extreme temperatures. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Physics from 2006 to 2020 and has held several national leadership roles, including President of the Canadian Association of Physicists and Chair of the Canadian Institute for Photonic Innovations. Michael has also played a key role in advancing physics education and outreach in Canada, notably coordinating Canada’s activities for the UN-declared World Year of Physics 2005.

Renowned Gender Equality Advocate and National Governance Leader

Dr. Emily Joy Sikazwe is a highly respected gender activist with over 25 years of experience championing women’s rights and human rights in Zambia and internationally. As Executive Director of Women for Change for 21 years, she positively impacted over 330,000 rural women and men, consistently advocating for equality and democratic rights. She has represented marginalized voices at global platforms, including the Commission on the Status of Women, and has contributed to international and national policy formulation. An award-winning human rights advocate, she also founded the Nyapachuma Memorial Foundation to mentor and empower young girls. From 2015 to 2023, Dr. Sikazwe served as Commissioner and later Vice Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia, providing strategic leadership and oversight of national electoral processes. Her extensive education, international exposure, and values of Ubuntu underscore her lasting contribution to Zambia’s development and democratic governance.

Visionary Educator and Organizational Learning Facilitator

Dr. Debbie Castle, is an educator, learning organization specialist, and visionary with four decades of facilitation with partners in over 25 countries. She loves learning and has made a life of bringing new and innovative ways of facilitating learning with leaders in organizations. Her greatest joy is creating teams of facilitators from inside and outside an organization to bring renewal, relevancy, and effectiveness toward shared organizational vision and purpose.
Debbie is a team writer and editor with six books published and more to come!
She has a daily meditation practice as a way to maintain stability in this chaotic world. Debbie’s primary purpose is to inspire and reclaim the integrity, safety, and equality of human relationships within groups, communities, and organizations around the world so that people can thrive in their work environments.
